Access to essential services shouldn’t depend on the weather.
In many rural Ugandan communities, poor road infrastructure cuts families from schools, clinics, markets, and clean water. Children walk through flooded paths to get to class, and emergency vehicles often can’t reach those in need.
The Road Improvement program is changing that.
Working side-by-side with local leaders and residents,
We identify and improve the most vital roads and trails, especially those that link:
🏫 Schools
🏥 Health centres
💧 Water sources
🌾 Farms
With the support of community volunteers, youth groups, and local authorities, we:
Several times, Mazima CDI, in collaboration with the local government and sub-county, stepped in to address critical road issues in Kabowa.
🚧 On one occasion, flooding caused by heavy rains was resolved by installing culverts in key flooding zones, restoring access to homes and services.
🚜 Another time, a long stretch of road was repaired using marram soil donated from Mazima’s own compound. This made the road usable again after prolonged rains had rendered it impassable.
🌟 The local community responded with immense gratitude, as these improvements made a direct and meaningful impact on daily life.
However, these are only temporary solutions, a long-term, sustainable approach is urgently needed.
Be Part of the Change
Every road we improve is a step toward a more connected, resilient, and thriving Uganda.
