Empowering Students for Modern and Sustainable Farming

Agriculture Training Program

At Mazima Vocational Institute, our Agriculture Program is designed to equip students with practical knowledge, modern farming techniques, and entrepreneurial skills needed to succeed in today’s agricultural sector. We combine classroom-based learning with hands-on practical training to prepare students to become competent farmers, agricultural professionals, and agribusiness entrepreneurs.

Our training focuses on modern crop production, livestock management, value addition, and sustainable agricultural practices. Students gain practical experience through our demonstration farms and agricultural production units, enabling them to apply what they learn in real-life farming environments.

Modern Crop Production

Students are trained in modern crop production technologies aimed at increasing productivity, improving farm profitability, and promoting sustainable farming. Training covers modern high-yielding crop varieties, nursery bed establishment and management, best agronomic practices for improved yields and quality, crop pest and disease identification, prevention and control, and proper post-harvest handling to minimize losses.

Practical Livestock Management

Students gain practical skills in modern and sustainable livestock production and management, including poultry production, piggery, cattle production, goat production, sheep production, pasture establishment and agronomy, livestock feeding and nutrition, animal housing and hygiene, basic livestock health and disease prevention, breeding, and farm records and enterprise management.

Demonstration Farm and Practical Training Facilities

Mazima Vocational Institute has a standard demonstration farm for crop and livestock production, providing students with hands-on practical training through a standard poultry unit for layers, a well-equipped dairy section, a piggery unit, a goat section, a greenhouse, a coffee-banana garden, and a horticulture garden.

Career Opportunities after the Agriculture Program

Students who successfully pursue our Agriculture Program acquire practical skills that can open doors to employment, self-employment, and further education.

community Involvement

The seedling stage is a critical and vulnerable period in a plant’s life cycle. It requires adequate light, water, nutrients, and protection from harsh conditions.

New Contribute farm Irrigation scheme

Drip irrigation, also known as trickle irrigation, is a highly efficient method of delivering water and nutrients directly to the plant root zone through a network of pipes, tubes, and emitters.

Why Choose Our Agriculture Program?

At Mazima Vocational Institute, we believe that agriculture education should be practical, innovative, and connected to real-life farming needs. Our combination of classroom instruction, hands-on training, demonstration farms, and community farmer field days gives students an opportunity to learn by doing.
